Shinfield Studios
Shinfield Studios is an exciting new UK Film, TV Studio & production hub currently in development. Phase 1 is operational (four sound stages, workshops, offices and backlot) with more film and tv studio facilities opening on a rolling basis over the next 2 years. Phase 2 is due to be completed by April 2023, bringing five new sound stages, workshops and offices and Phase 3 is due to be completed by Summer 2023 with Phase 4 and 5 by 2024.
Building on the UK’s global reputation for producing world class content, Shinfield Studios will offer film and television producers nearly 1 million square feet of studio space, comprised of 18 new purpose-built sound stages, workshop and mill space plus a contemporary office environment and post production facility.
Our film and TV studios will create a substantial and diverse range of employment opportunities and will enhance the innovation-led strategy at the Thames Valley Science Park established by our partner, the University of Reading, in conjunction with Wokingham Council.
Planning & Development
In March 2021 planning permission was granted for 4 temporary film stages, which were completed in November 2021. In June 2021, full planning was submitted to create a permanent, much larger, state of the art film and television production complex on over 65 acres of land at the Thames Valley Science Park in Shinfield, Berkshire, England. This main site was granted full planning permission in December 2021.
Alongside the four sound stages already constructed, a further five are due to open by the end of April 2023, with four more by the end of July 2023, with completion of the entire 18 stage facility by the middle of 2024.

Shinfield Studios marks phase two of construction
Shinfield Studios, which currently has 4 stages and workshops open and occupied, continue with construction of Phase 2 of their site. 5 new stages, workshops and offices will be opening in Q1 2023 with Phase 3 set to be completed by the end of Q2 2023 – adding a further 4 stages and associated facilities.
Shinfield Studios receives full planning permission for major new film and TV studio complex.
Shinfield Studios, part of Blackhall Global Partners, has received full planning permission from Wokingham Borough Council to begin construction on a state-of-the-art studio facility, which will comprise 18 sound stages. Disney confirmed as first client.
